Transparent Teeth Aligners ClearCorrect

Transparent teeth aligners are becoming an increasingly popular way of correcting teeth because they do not affect the appearance of the face. Teeth correction is not only a matter of smile aesthetics. Properly aligned teeth provide:

  • Functionality of the bite
  • Proper pronunciation
  • Easy maintenance of oral hygiene.

Today, there are several methods of teeth correction. The traditional method of aligning teeth involves wearing a metal brace with brackets and wires. While metal braces are effective in straightening teeth, they significantly affect the appearance of the face, which is why patients are increasingly opting for alternative orthodontic options.

Transparent Teeth Aligners – Orthodontics of the New Era

Invisible orthodontics refers to an orthodontic system based on taking a digital impression using a 3Shape Trios5 scanner and digitally planning the therapy in special software to produce individual trays for teeth correction, known as clear aligners.

Gikic Polyclinic utilizes transparent orthodontics. We started using the Invisalign system, and today we use ClearCorrect, which is part of the Straumann Group offering.

Why did we choose this particular clear aligner system?

More than half a million people have successfully corrected their teeth with ClearCorrect.

What is ClearCorrect?

ClearCorrect is an American orthodontic system that is equally effective as Invisalign, which has made the greatest breakthrough in clear aligner orthodontics. It is an orthodontic option that helps correct teeth in an irregular position using a set of individually made trays made of multi-layered, medically approved-plastic. These trays are designed based on years of research and testing. The result is a transparent, almost invisible elastic aligner that effectively moves teeth.

Course of therapy – How does the transparent aligner correct teeth?

  1. Initial examination – we perform X-ray diagnostics, photography, digital scanning, and have a conversation with the patient to understand their desires and expectations.
  2. Second visit – the patient comes for us to explain the treatment plan and show a 3D simulation in the software, demonstrating what can be achieved and how their smile will look at the end of the therapy.
  3. Aligner production at the manufacturer’s factory based on the patient’s digital tooth impression.
  4. The patient receives their individual set of trays.
  5. The active phase of therapy – the patient independently places and changes the trays. Each tray is worn for 14 days (4 days for pressure, 10 days for retention) for a minimum of 22 hours per day. It is only removed for eating and toothbrushing. The constant pressure stimulates the body to collect and activate cells involved in bone remodeling called osteoclasts. Teeth begin to move as early as 2 days of pressure. The weekly movement is 0.3 mm.
  6. Regular check-ups.
  7. The active phase of teeth correction is completed, and the retention phase begins – retainers are made to maintain teeth in their new position. Retention is the most crucial part of the therapy because teeth are prone to further shifting throughout life.
